7 Steps to Sin - You Have a Choice!

How many times have you promised God, yourself, an accountability partner, your family, etc that you are going to stop with a specific sin. Then, suddenly you find yourself AGAIN in the spot of sinning. It feels like a trap. Perhaps, this is just going to be your own personal sin struggle. Maybe this is just your personality - a part of you.

NO! LIES - THESE ARE ALL LIES!

I have just been watching a remarkable training from the Be in Health folks about the 7 Steps to Sin.

As noted in James 1:14-15, there are seven steps to sin:

James 1:14-15

King James Version (KJV)
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

1. Temptation - An evil thought enters your head. This is always a thought from the enemy. Not from God.
2. Drawn Away - Preoccupied by thought. You begin to have strong feelings about specific temptation.
3. Own Lust - Satan knows what we are easily tempted by. At this stage, you sit back and turn on the TV in your mind thinking about temptation and liking it.
4. Enticement - Weakening of your will. Your will power weakens. You begin to get symptoms in your body enticing you to sin.
5. Lust Conceived - This is not only meaning the sexual sin of lust. You prepare for sin - the desire to sin enters your heart. You make the thought your own.
6. Sin - You commit the sin.  You open the door to curses and diseases
7. Death - Consequence of sin is death. Separation from God. Guilt and shame come in.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE!

I always knew the Bible said that it was a choice to sin or not, but in some areas of my life I just could not get a very strong handle on it. I would walk away from a temptation then fall repeatedly several times in a row. I was thankful that Jesus had died for me, so I could ask for forgiveness, but I felt guilty and shameful that I kept falling.

This message is a life changing idea. It is the disembodied spirit (demonic) that often brings a tempting thought into our heads. Even if it seems like it is our idea - for instance, if we hear the voice in first person. Just think you have not actually committed the sin until step number 6.

In my next blog entry, I am going to discuss how to renounce the sinful thought before it becomes a sin reality!

Awesome! Walk in freedom, my friends!

Discipline from God - Am I Being Punished?

I was just reading the Bible today and got to thinking about Hebrews 12:5-6. It says,

And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son."

Often we think of discipline as a spanking or a harsh word. Is this what God does to rebuke us? When praying for clarity on this, I felt God explaining that discipline is actually His way of guiding, directing, and protecting. Then I saw a vision of a young child about to touch a hot stove. What does a loving parent do in this instance? He/she corrects the child by: explaining why it is unsafe to touch the stove, guides the child about how to handle hot things, and, thereby, protects the child from getting hurt.

This is why God provides us with commandments and guidelines for so many issues we face today. It is not with a hateful, punishing hand that He does this. Rather, it is because He loves His precious children so much He wants us to be deeply blessed and to walk in righteousness.

Should I Raise my Hands During Worship? What Will the Person Next to me Think?

You have attended church. You know the routine. Begin with a few songs, maybe clap a little if others are clapping. Or if you are really bold raise one hand above your head so everyone will know you are worshipping. Do this for 20 minutes and then time for the sermon.

Sound familiar? Well, that was the way I felt every time I went to pretty much any church when I traveled around.

There was very much an atmosphere of wanting to seem "spiritual" but not too weird or out-there.
In this mind frame, there might be one song that spoke very quietly to my spirit and made me tear up, but most often I was very aware of the present world and not the heavenly realm.

Could this be what worship is about? Is this the way God wants me to sing to Him?

What if this mindset makes one miss the point completely of worshipping God?

For me, the key was a few important components to unlocking my worship:

1. Worship with eyes closed and imagine all others are blindfolded.
2. If you see yourself doing something in the spirit (like I might see myself moving my arms in a circle above my head) then do it. By being obedient to God you could unleash something from God or be a channel He is needing to use.
3. Know that there is no "right way" to worship. When I let myself go and really just move for God, there is no commonality to what I am doing. You might feel you should suddenly kneel because God's presence is so heavy on you, for instance.
4. Understand that by being freer during worship you will help others. When I first came to be in a church where people worshipped more freely, I sat back and watched several times. I felt sad when I walked in and uplifted by the true joy shown by the way people were worshipping.

Why not start in your home? Try putting on some praise music - if you do not have any of this type of music just do a general search on youtube and there is tons available. Then move around in your living room as God moves you.

If that still feels too crazy to you - try just sitting and listening to the music then moving as you sit.

By stepping out of your normal routine of worship that you do each Sunday, I guarantee you will have a different and, thereby, have a wonderful experience with God. When I let go, I have revelations, visions, and feel true peace.

Remember praise is a weapon! Do not allow the enemy to weaken your weapon by telling you people are looking at you. Praising God is not about any of them - it is about your amazing God! Let's dance for joy and let Him know how grateful we are for freedom, love, and eternal life!

Feeling Trapped by your Feelings

I used to live my life by my feelings. It is really easy to fall back into this, actually. We naturally want to feel "good," but can easily be overtaken by strong feelings that stick around for a while affecting our relationships, work, sleep, and general health.
It is God's desire for us to have peace and joy, but it is completely normal and biblical  to feel angry, sad, afraid, etc. The key is to ask God to help you move from a place of anger, fear, depression, etc to peace.
What I did for most of my life is I went by how I felt and when I felt a strong emotion I often stayed there for days.
In Ephesians 4:26 it says, "...Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry." I always thought of this verse as a guide for couples to not go to bed until an issue was settled. However, I believe it could also mean do not perseverate on a strong emotion like anger.
For me it was often sadness or fatigue I would get stuck in for weeks at a time. It is not sinful to be in this state, but God wants us free. He also has big plans of how to use us and cannot get those plans moving if we are stuck in a strong emotional time.

What can you do if you find yourself in a season where you are often angry, sad, or anxious?
1. Remind yourself it is okay to feel strong emotions temporarily, but God does not want us to live in these feelings, being stuck or restricted because of them.
2. Begin by remembering and agreeing with who God says you are. Click here if you do not know who God says you are
3. Remind yourself that God is not disappointed in you. In fact, He has never had a bad thought about you.
4. Get rid of all shame and condemnation
5. Be still before God and ask Him, "What do you think about me?" (Click on link if you feel you do not hear God).
6. Write out what you hear or see. Ask God to tell you more about each item or vision.
7. Read frequently and believe these truths God has told you. Internalize them. Believe them. Know them by heart. This is really more important than anything. This will power you to move forward exponentially and step into who God created you to be.

Who Does God Say I Am?

Feeling insecure? Unsure of who you are? Unsteady on your feet? Begin by reading and AGREEING with the following verses from the Bible.
How do you do this? Read aloud the verse, paraphrase, and personalize it. For instance, in Song of Solomon 4:17 say, "I am altogether beautiful. God loves me and He finds no fault in me." Then say, "I agree with this."  Your words and agreement are powerful. God wants you to really understand how deeply He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
Still having trouble believing these truths about yourself? Try personalizing your favorite ones and copying them onto a paper that you read daily. By pouring truth into yourself you will begin to agree.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lordsees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.Psalm 139:14

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:6-8

Will You Share Your Treasure of Block it Off?

This morning I woke up and asked God what He wanted to tell me. I had the following vision:

I see a bird flying over a cave/cavern. Inside the cave is a treasure. Deep inside the cave is an even more beautiful treasure.

I asked God what this vision meant:
The bird is the Lord. The cave is me and the treasure is what is inside of me.

Further interpretation from God:
Each of us are a cave. We have within our spirit beautiful gifts God wants us to share with others. There are parts of ourselves that are deep within which are especially lovely and highly coveted. We have a choice, we can block off our cave so that none can enter (through defensiveness, hiding from others, sarcasm, and other self-preserving strategies) or we can be vulnerable and step into what God has destined us for, thereby, being able to share with many the beautiful parts of ourselves to make a global impact for God.

Which will you choose?

Desires of the Heart - Put There For a Reason

Perhaps in the past you have been chastised for having what seems to be an unrealistic dream for your life. As life goes on, you get a job and forget those deep longings of the heart because you must be responsible or "grow up."
But what if the desires of your heart were put there by God? What if He designed you to be doing what you dreamed of?
Perhaps in the world's eyes you might seem crazy to spend time day dreaming, but God has been waiting on the sidelines for you to start looking beyond the possible into the seemingly impossible.
Why not spend 10 or 15 minutes thinking about what you really love doing? What really makes your heart beat a little faster? Look at things you consider hobbies or free time activities. Or think about the things you did when you were a kid. What makes you feel true joy?
Now take these things and just dream. What would your life look like if you could do this full time? Perhaps as part of a ministry for God?
There are no rules here. You are just imagining. What would it look like? Where would you be? What would your days be like? Where would you live? Who would be with you?
Why not go on the adventure of life with God and imagine. Think about it. God put those desires of your heart inside you for a reason!

Your Passions - One Key to Your True Destiny

I have always felt that God puts desires into our heart that He intends on fulfilling.

I am now learning that even interests/hobbies could play a vital role in what God has planned for me.

So, here is my question to you? What are you passionate about? What gets your heart beating faster? If you have free time, what do you choose to do with it?

Make a list of these items. Even if they seem trivial or are "just a hobby."

Now, go to God with your list. Ask Him for revelation.

Isn't it just great we do not have to go through life just barely surviving and crossing off each day as it goes by. This was never God's intention for your life. No, He has a purpose that He designed you specifically for.

When you find this direction and choose to walk in this, then you will be doing something you are really passionate about.

So, if you feel stuck, just begin to think about your passions and see what God has for you to get excited about.

Not MY Shame - just shame!

When was the last time you felt shame or ashamed of yourself?
When you were little? A month ago? Yesterday? An hour ago?

When you feel shame you need to stop it immediately.

SHAME IS NEVER FROM GOD!

I have found that I personalize shame. It is my shame. I deserved it. I felt it. But, actually, freedom comes from not owning it - not personalizing it. Remember, God is not angry with you or wanting you to feel shame. He isn't focused on it -- why should you be? Recognize it for what it is - it is not YOUR shame, it is just shame. Therefore, it is time to kick that ugly feeling/thought out:

Stop and ask God, "What do you want me to know about this shame I am feeling? What is the root cause?" Go through the steps outlined here.  Obliterate that shame!

There is a difference between feeling shame (not from God) and righteous guilt (a reminder of a sin we need to confess). If you can't tell which you are feeling, just take a moment and ask God.

Righteous guilt can actually be helpful. If you are feeling guilty about something you did and it was really wrong, then do not condemn yourself - simply ask for forgiveness, make amends if needed, and then ask God to help you make a better choice next time for a different outcome.

Negative Words - True or a Lie?

How often does a negative, condemning thought float through your head? "Oh I shouldn't have done that. That was terrible!" or "I failed again. I can't believe it."
We have talked quite a bit about who you are in God and choosing to agree with that. But, what if you did make a mistake or you really think whatever you are hearing that is negative is really true?
Take 5 minutes and ask God, "God this is what I was just thinking. (insert your negative thought here) Is this true? What do you have to say about it?" Then write down (if possible) what is said and BELIEVE it. Choose to agree with whatever God says. Remember He has never had a bad thought about you.
What about that mistake you made? We have discussed that you should no longer be looking at any decision from a pass/fail mentality, but looking at and grading outcomes. But, if you really feel stuck, like you know you did make a mistake - what then? Simply ask God, "Was this truly a mistake?" and "What do you want me to learn or know from this?"Again, choose to agree with whatever God tells you. Walk in freedom, my friend! Condemnation is not a part of God's world and He certainly wants you to be totally free from it!

How to Use Sword of Spirit

Do you remember the armor of God in Ephesians? (Posted at bottom of this blog) I always thought it was a great idea to put on this armor, but I really didn't get how to do it. Especially when told to fight with the Sword of the Spirit. I figured this must be the Holy Spirit, but how exactly do I use this to fight the wily schemes of the devil? While spending time with God the other day and being still, I heard God tell me how to do this. Begin by knowing what God says about you. If you do not know what God says specifically about you go to this blog post here. Once you have God's thoughts about yourself then write then out and say them daily so they become very familiar and agree with them. It is very powerful when we agree with what God says about us.
Anyway, God let me know that to use the Sword of the Spirit I was to test any thoughts that entered my head with the words God has told me about myself. Does this thought agree with what God says about me? If not, throw it out. Do not allow it to remain in the head. Do not perseverate or give it anymore air time. Repeat something God has told you, like, "I am God's treasure."
I really like this practical way of using the truths God has been telling me about me to battle against any gobbledegook satan is trying to sell me.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

The Fight against Evil

10 Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. 11 Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil’s tricks. 12 We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. 13 So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day[a] comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.
14 Be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God’s justice protect you like armor. 15 Your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet. 16 Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17 Let God’s saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God’s message that comes from the Spirit.
18 Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.

Talking Too Much!!

I have recently discovered why I could not hear God -- I was doing all of the talking!! I am quite a talker in life. I have a lot to say. There is nothing wrong with having a conversation with God, in fact, He desires to have an intimate friendship with us. But, when I would sit down to pray I would talk about everything that was going on and intercede for others then AMEN.
I was missing a HUGE element. What is it? God tells us to be still before Him. I didn't really get this. First of all, I was rarely still any time in my life. But, God really wants to tell us a lot of information and give us dreams/visions/words of knowledge.
I was totally missing this part of my relationship with God.
To change this I learned how to be still before God.  What worked really well for me was to go outside and just sit. The first time I did it, it took about 10 minutes of concentrated effort to get the ongoing dialogue in my head to silence. Just deep breathing and waiting. Then God gave me a simple message about who He saw me as, but it was really powerful and life-changing.
Since that point, I have tried to be silent before God as often as I could. I have found with practice that I can hear much better and so much quicker than before.
If you are a talker, look at your journals or your prayer life? Are you talking too much? Are you even trying to listen? Then, change it up. See my entry on the steps that I took to be still before God.
Think of the amazing things you are going to learn from God just by taking a few minutes with Him.

BE STILL...

I have learned that the best revelations from God come from simply learning to be still before Him.

How to be still before God:
1. Find a location where you can have at least 10 minutes alone. Being outside in nature is really great, but anywhere where you can get a moment alone is fine. I know one mother who actually goes into a closet and sits on the floor so she can have a few minutes alone with God without the kiddos around. If you can't think of a place or have such a tight schedule you are unsure of how to schedule it in, just ask God. He desperately wants to spend time with you. He will provide a way to be still.
2.  Keep paper beside you and a pen. Be ready to jot down any errands you suddenly remember as you begin to be still before God. Go ahead and write them all down. Otherwise, these items will be in your head and keep you from being completely still.
3. Pray, "In the name of Jesus, I command my body and mind to line up with the Holy Spirit." Now your mind and body will not distract you from hearing God.
4. Take a series of deep breaths. Try to breathe out slower each time.
5. Ask God a question or just be completely still before Him.
6. Write if you see any visions or hear any words from Him. Do not try to analyze what you are writing means. Just go with it.
7. Be sure to reread your revelations and/or journal about them. These are precious words from God about you and your destiny God has for you.

My Testimony

Despite becoming a Christian when I was 13, my real transformation story began in February of 2013.

It all started by attending weekly Saturday evening services at Wind and Fire Missions Base .

At this time, I was have 30-60 day migraines that were usually around a 8-10+ pain level and was taking 6 daily medications (along with additional meds for pain). My eyes were light sensitive, so I had to wear tinted glasses so I would not get an "eye migraine." Also, I had an oxygen tank nearby to help when I would get dizzy spells or feel nauseated from the migraines.

In addition, I was not able to walk more than 5 minutes due to foot and back pain. The lack of being able to move around and continuous headaches made me feel really sad and anxious.

In addition, I found that any time I went to any church I would become dizzy and get a level 10 migraine immediately. I always would try to make myself go to church because I know I "should," but I would often leave early because I would get so sick. I think the condemnation that I had already going around in my head continuously plus the condemnation I would feel that was coming from church heightened the level of my pain.

However, through Wind and Fire I learned that God has never had a bad thought about me. The teachings presented weekly began to pierce the darkness in my life.  I started to learn that it was not all about what I did, how successful I was, it was all about who I was in Christ.

I also met a remarkable person named Amy who began to speak truth into my life about how I had authority in Christ and power. I had never been taught that. She told me that the Holy Spirit is not just a guide, but a true source of power. Amy told me to tell the pain to leave in the name of Jesus. She introduced me to the teachings of Curry Blake and how God really wants to heal us all.

The headaches completely went away. Anxiety  and sadness left as I cast it out in the name of Jesus. My foot pain went away. The back was suddenly better and I am now going to Jazzercise 3-6 times a week. I never thought I would get back to Jazzercise.

I no longer take any prescription medicines.

I no longer have any condemnation in my head.

Each day God is refining me.

It is amazing how free God wanted me to be!

Praise God for miracles!

We Do Not Have a Spirit of Fear

When you are saved your spirit becomes new. This means that your old spirit is gone forever and the Holy Spirit lives within you.

Why then does the Christian struggle with fear? The Bible says over and over again that we are not to fear - ever!

15 You didn’t receive a spirit that makes you a slave to fear once again. Instead you received the Holy Spirit, who makes you God’s child. By the Spirit’s power we call God “Abba.” Abbameans Father. 16 The Spirit himself joins with our spirits. Together they give witness that we are God’s children. (Romans 8:15-16)

Rather we have a spirit of power, love, and of a strong mind. Think about that for a minute. Power - You have authority. The authority of Jesus living within you to speak to that sickness, pain, depression. Look in the gospels. Have you ever noticed how Jesus spoke with such authority and conviction when He spoke? Speak with the same authority. Your words have great power!
Love - Have you learned to embrace the love God has for you? Are you agreeing with everything God has called you to be? When you agree with God's love for you, you are able to love with an amazing love to others.
Strong mind - For so long, I felt my mind was weak. I was a Christian, but I was not renewing my mind. I actually didn't know how to. I would make myself read the Bible and pray because I thought I should. To renew your mind, you take authority over anything that is in there that should not be (such as condemning thoughts), hold onto important words from God/visions that you can agree with and meditate on, and tell your mind to line up with the Holy Spirit.
If you are living in fear, you are not free. This is not where God wants you to be. It is normal to feel fear, but you should not live in that space. If you are in anxiety land and cannot stop your mind from racing - seek God. Just stop wherever you are. Tell your body and mind to line up with the Holy Spirit. Then ask God, "What do you want me to know about this anxiety I am feeling right now, God?" Breathe, close your eyes, and listen.
Repeat this as often as necessary. God does not want you in fear. He will provide freedom, but you have to let him in and get off the anxiety wheel in order to allow Him to work.

What Does it Mean to Have a New Spirit?

You can recall the exact day and circumstances of when you accepted Christ into your heart. At that time you were given a new spirit. However, your body and mind were not born again. Only your spirit was.
Why is this important to consider? It is important to think about so you understand how God wants you to run.
The New Age religion operates in a way contrary to the way God wants us to run. New Age tells one body then mind then soul.
It is actually the opposite that God wants us to operate from. We are to function spirit then mind then body.  What is really sad is often a Christian operates in the old man mentality of focusing on physical (body) or mind (emotional) rather than starting with God in the spirit.
So, for instance, for many years as a Christian I was overwhelmed by schemes of the devil in my body (all of the migraines and pains in body) and emotional (feeling depressed, anxious, and worried). This was not living the victorious life God has called for me.
No demonic spirits can mess with the Holy Spirit that dwells within me.
Therefore, if I approach life from a spirit perspective rather than on how I feel or body symptoms then I can really run in a free way.
Why not spend time alone with God today (even 5 minutes is fine) and ask him, "God what were you thinking when you designed me?" Try to empty your head and keep a pad a paper nearby to write down any visions or words of knowledge gives you. If you suddenly think of an errand you need to, write that down and then return to the task at hand.
To operate in the spirit we must learn to listen and then look forward to the journey God wants to take us on!

I've Prayed Powerfully, But I Don't Feel Any Better...

So, you have watched the Curry Blake videos here and you have prayed powerfully for yourself in the name of Jesus knowing that the power that resurrected Jesus lives within you. Perhaps you felt your pain or something shift when you prayed, but you have woken up today feeling just as sick.

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED!

Do you remember the Isaiah 53:5?

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Do you see? "…by His stripes we are healed." Look at the tense of that verse.
In the normal Christian church, we are taught that it may be God's will for us to us to be sick. This is just NOT true. It is always His will for us to be free and healthy! He took those stripes for you and me so we could know that we ARE healed.

What does that mean? Remember our God is always about free will choice.
You have a choice. You can walk in sickness or in health knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are healed.

Let me give you an example. I used to have really debilitating back pain. My back would hurt after about 5 minutes of walking. When I first learned about how to pray powerfully and in the spirit, I would pray for my back. I used to touch my back and pray something like "I bring health into this back, in the name of Jesus. By your stripes this back is completely well." Remember, it is not really what we say, but it is the belief of knowing it is Jesus doing the healing and not some personal superpower or whatever. Anyway, after praying I might notice the back pain leave completely or sometimes it would move. It might get hot or cold. All of these things are signs that the pain is on the move. What do you do then? You BLAST that pain with prayer. You may need to pray for it every 5 minutes for a certain period of time. Just walk in faith knowing this is completely unacceptable and you refuse to have pain because God wants you to be free.

Another important part is to renew your mind. You see, when one is in chronic pain or has an illness, you start to make accommodations in life. I know I was. I would think, "I cannot walk the dog because my back pain is so bad" or "If I go to Walmart, I am going to have to find some places to sit down because my back will hurt after walking for a few minutes." You get the idea. When I would have these thoughts, I was actually WELCOMING the pain back in.

Kind of crazy, right? I know it sounds weird, but being sick can be provide reasons to not go to work, attend social gatherings we might rather skip, take extra naps, and the list goes on. So, if you are going to pray powerfully for healing in your body, then you must renew your mind and begin to think differently.

What if your back didn't hurt all the time? What would you do that you have not been able to do forever? What if you didn't have cancer or some kind of disease? What would be different? Take some time. Ask God what you have changed because of your pain/sickness. What parts of the true you that God created you to be could return?

For me, one of the true parts of me was to dance again. With the daily migraines, back pain, and foot pain this really seemed like an impossibility to me. But, I began to walk in faith knowing that soon I would return to Jazzercise. The first day I went, it was scary. Part of me really felt I couldn't do it. 2-3 times during the sessions for the first month or so, I would have to go into the bathroom and pray in the name of Jesus for whatever part of my body was suddenly hurting again. I refused to give up this true part of me. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is one of the things God wanted me to do. Nothing was going to keep me from reaching God's goal for me!

You might also have to retrain family members. They are used to your sickness and pain. I had many people asking me all the time about how bad my headaches had been recently or trying to make accommodations for me knowing I could not walk far. Tell them you have realized God doesn't want you to be sick. Stop talking about those aches and pains. Ask God to show you when you think about them (the thought patterns you have) and break those in the name of Jesus.

I think another thing that also really helped is to kind of pray aggressively when pain would come around. Especially when I was alone in my car, I raise my voice and speak directly to that pain in the name of Jesus. I tell it that it is absolutely not allowed. I know who I am in God. I agree with who God says I am. I refuse to allow that pain/sickness to keep me from doing what God wants me to do. Somehow for me, speaking in almost an angry voice helps to remind me that it is not by Katherine's power that these things have to go, but it is by the amazing power of Jesus that lives in me.

Finally, one other thing I would like to mention. Sometimes I will still have just a terrible headache. I pray fervently in the spirit and it seems to have a vice on me. In that situation, it is important to have someone who knows how to pray powerfully and have them pray for you. What if you do not have anyone? In that case, please contact me via email. Give me your phone number, what is ailing you, and best time to call. I will call and we will get you feeling better.

Once you start walking in freedom and health, share your newfound knowledge. See that person walking on a cane on the street? Go over and ask if you can pray for them. Almost always they will say yes. Pray for them (maybe several times until they feel better or put down that cane). Then share the gospel (if they do not already have a relationship with God). By taking this leap of faith, you will have changed a life and you will feel even healthier because praying for others in this way will dramatically increase your faith! Praise God!

Pay Attention to What Makes You Feel Defensive...

Did you know that a key way of seeing into yourself and what is still binding you from living the way God wants you to live is to look at what makes you feel defensive?
It's true. Try for a day or two to really be aware if you feel offended or find yourself being defensive in any situation.
Note these things. Then take a few minutes with God and begin to analyze them with God helping you discern.
If I have time, I take a minute immediately after I notice that I have been defensive about something and go through the following steps with God.

1. I acknowledge that I felt defensive. Then I ask God to help me see what was I defensive about. What was the true message underneath my defensiveness?
2. Once I discover the incident, memory, or issue that is underneath the defensiveness I think about the topic (trying to put myself in the situation or memory associated with it). I ask myself, "What am I feeling in this setting?"
3. I acknowledge any emotions I feel (such as: fear, anxiety, sadness, humiliation, etc). Then I take these emotions stating them aloud and say, "In the name of Jesus, fear you leave now. I break all ties you have to this situation."
4. In addition, I pay attention to subconscious statements I might be saying to myself (those core beliefs that are definitely unbiblical such as "I am bad" "I am disgusting" or whatever).
5. I take theses statements and say, "In the name of Jesus you no longer have any power here. I will not think these things again in the name of Jesus. Any strongholds or thought patterns associated with this belief is broken in the name of Jesus."
6. To make sure I am done with this issue, I go back to the original situation in my head that just happened to make me defensive. How am I feeling now? What thoughts am I having? If any negatives still remain I repeat until head is empty and feeling no feelings.

This is truly an amazing and life changing exercise. It is like having years and years of counseling, but in the span of 5 minutes. I can now see why God is called the ultimate counselor. Only He can get rid of the junk that has been in our brains for our whole lives in just a few short minutes. Wow! Praise God!

God Does NOT Want You to be Sick!

God does not want you to be sick.
Throughout my adult life, I had migraines. I felt God had allowed me to have this health issue or even given it to me because I deserved it!
It was a huge revelation to realize that sickness does not come from God. He actually wants us to be healed.
Mark 16:18 states, "They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed"(emphasis added).
What does this really mean? Our great commission as Christians is to go out and lay hands on others, in the name of Jesus, and God will heal them.
Perhaps the best at explaining this concept clearly is Curry Blake. Please see my page with all of Curry Blake's DHT (Divine Healing Technique) trainings. Watch all of these trainings and then go out and start laying hands on people. It is really amazing to see. Or lay hands on yourself. That is where I began. I put my hands on myself and told my headaches to leave in the name of Jesus.
So, the next time you hear someone say it is God's will for them to be sick, remind yourself it is NEVER God's will for us to be sick. He wants us to walk in His glory and power into freedom and becoming who He wants us to be in Christ.

Immediate vs. Ultimate

Impulse control can be hard. Whether you struggle with food, shopping, gambling, drinking, etc.
One of the Fruits of the Spirit is self-discipline. Did you realize that simply by becoming a Christian you have access to any and all of the Fruits of the Spirit? They are not some unattainable thing that one needs to read the Bible so many times or do some sort religious gymnastics to accomplish.
Rather, they are there at your fingertips now. Simply start living in self-discipline. Walk with the confidence knowing that God has already bestowed this gift to you.
Also, when facing those impulse situations, why not say to yourself, "immediate or ultimate." In other words, think about if you are going to indulge the immediate or resist for ultimate. If you live life according to the immediate, you will miss out on the ultimate!
One thing I am doing right now is having a sign in my car with "immediate or ultimate" on my dashboard. Sometimes I am tempted to buy something or eat when I do not need to. By having a simple reminder in front of me, I am able to remember that I am self-disciplined. God has already given me this gift.
Just another way to walk in freedom and power!
